We left Michigan on October 18th. It was a warm sunny day. We headed south to Sunset Springs RV Resort. They officially closed on the 17th but let us come in and park wherever we wanted. The owners were fantastic and escorted us through the park because I missed the entrance and came in the exit. This place was beautiful with all the colorful leaves on the ground. It is defiantly a place to stop at again.
We caught up with dad in Ohio at Amish Country Campsites in Winesburg, OH. It was very wet while we were there. They have a lot of pull thru sites and the ones on the end are better for bigger rigs. It was tight getting out of our spot. Our surge protector did not like their electric but we found a way to make it work. There is also water at the sight and a dump station.

Warther Cutlery is dad's favorite stop.
He bought knives here and brings them back
to have them sharpened for free. This
company has a great history and museum.
Another must see in the area is Lehman's Hardware
A few more miles down the road was
Fort Chiswell RV Park. This place was easy in - easy out.
They also had propane fill up.
till 11 am when the fog started to lift.

When we are in the area I usually call ahead and see if we can
park at the Church where we stayed when we did our habitat builds.
This trip was a "drive till your done" trip and I didn't know where we
would be when we were done.
They have upgraded this park and it really has become a gem.
There are so many great places to camp and
Red Gate RV Park in Savanah, GA is at the top of my list. They
had no sights available but allowed us to boon dock
in the field.
The next day as we were pulling out on our last leg of the
journey This Happened. We called Jack's Mobile RV Repair on
a Saturday and he was there in about 90 minutes. He and his
son got the jack removed and the hydraulic lines closed and
they didn't break the bank. The campground kept our place open
incase we could not get out and came by to check on us.
We will return here.
We finally made it to Oak Harbor
Update on Bill
We went to see the oncologist. She was so happy
to see him. We talked about the slow growth of the pancreatic cancer
and she said she has only seen it one other time and would like Bill to
see a genetic specialist. On a flip side his platelets dropped from 83 before we left Michigan to 70. He has not had any chemo. The oncologist is wondering
why this is happening and he is set up for a bone marrow biopsy this Wednesday.
