Habitat 2013

This page is dedicated to a dear friend who passed away just weeks before the build.  Charlie was a great teacher and I learned so much from him during the three builds we did together.
God, you took a good one! We miss you Charlie!

Due to a huge commitment Pete and Sandee could not make the build this year.  I think Pete would have enjoyed this build because we did a lot of new things.  Can't wait to see them next year!!

Then one of our team members had to leave due to a emergency call regarding her mom.  Merilyn flew home and was able to make it home before her mom passed away.  Larry and his son drove the rig home.  It was a very emotional couple of weeks for all of us.

So here are some pictures from this years build.  I am sure things will change, as they always do, but this is a great team and we will meet again next year!

Tour of Indy

After the Glamaramma (RV Rally) we took the rig to Elkhart to have some work done.

During the day while the rig was in the shop we took day trips.  It's a nice way t o get to see the sights.

I was so excited to go to the college football
hall of fame.  Sad to say they moved it to
Georgia a year ago.  O well, I am sure we will
get to Georgia soon!

Since there was no football hall of fame we opted for the Studebaker Museum.

They had an event display for Car Art.
Loved this design!!

And this is the car I fell in love with.  She is beautiful!!

One day we took a trip back to Michigan. We checked out the Maritime Museum and light house.

Blue Water RV'ers 2013

It was great to be able to get in a few campouts with our group.

A special than you to Gail Cooper for a lot of the photos.

I have put about four months of campouts
on this page.

Time in Michigan

I thought I would do an update of our time here in Michigan.

We arrived in Michigan the beginning of May just in time for our second grandson's christening.
Neil slept through most of the event.
It was a great day spent with family and friends.

The next event was Bill's shoulder surgery.  The surgery went perfect but the recovery was bumpy.  We learned more about drug side effects than we wanted to.  Needless to say the sooner the drugs were out of his system the better he felt.

Next on the agenda was the granddaughter's birthday.  Ella turned seven this year.  It seems like yesterday she was the size of the grandsons.  Time sure flies by.

Athena turned 26 this year.  I thought she would enjoy a rototiller for her birthday.  I thought it would be helpful with the new garden.  Needless to say she wasn't super excited by the gadget so I made it up to her by doing something special with her on her birthday.  I love those days together.

While Bill was in rehab I spent a lot of time walking the paths a Genesys.  It was a nice way to pass the time.

We also got to be the driver for the birthday girl.  Lilly Cooper turned the big 10 years old and Bill and I got to drive her around until her party at Roll Haven was ready to begin.  To keep her busy we took her to have her hair and nails done.  I would say we had her ready for a party!!

We have gotten to do some visiting while we were home.  Steve and Kecia had us over for dinner.  We got to ride bikes and visit with Athena's grandpa.  It was a beautiful day and of course the food was wonderful.

My dad and step mom also came up for a short visit and we were able to celebrate Mary's birthday while they were here.

We were also able to get in some Granddaughter time.  We took Ella to the Detroit Zoo and to Lilly's birthday party.  Ella is such a blast to do things with.  We will have more time with her before we leave Michigan.

We still have more people to visit and a University of Michigan football game to attend.

We will leave Durand on the 9th of September and head to Frankenmuth.  We will have more time with friends and family there.

Our Second Big RV Adventure begins on September 17th.

Bill and I have talked and we believe our life is blesses with everything we could ever want.

And one last thing, check out Our Grand Canyon Experience.  National Geographic seen the pictures on a past blog and asked me to post them on their site.  Enjoy!
