May 1st to September 17th - Our Time in Michigan

We arrived at Holiday Shores in Michigan on May 1st.  We had no clue what the year would bring.  We were not sure if the park would be able to have any of the fun events that we had last year.  I am happy to report that they were able to safely plan events and we have had a ball.

One of the first events was a car show and Sundays on Sunday.

The 4th of July was a blast.  There was a cart parade and ice cream

We had lots of kids this year for a bike parade and
kids fun and games.

A boat parade and Kona Ice

A parking lot party with pizza and music

All these events rounded out our 4th of July at the Shores

Now on to Christmas in July

And Halloween in August

We also had some family fun this year.

Andrea and the boys came to Michigan and

we got to celebrate Ian's 9th birthday.

We also got Hitch Itch and headed to rollways campground in Hale, MI.

It was rustic glamping at it's best.

I got to take some walks in woods and cook on the fire pit.

It was wonderful.

Bill is doing good.  He is on his third type of chemo and we are so blesses that he
has tolerated them all very well.  All his counts have been good except his platelets.  The platelets are slow to come back up.  His weight is hanging around 170 but he still enjoys eating.

9/23 No chemo today.  Platelets still too low. The Dr is doing a blood test to see if it is the cancer or the chemo that is affecting them. The blood test is for "Giant platelets".  I need to look that up.  I guess if his platelets are giant then he can have chemo.  Not sure why this wasn't checked before.  He will also have a CT scan the week of the 5th to see if the cancer is stable.  If his cancer has not grown she will hold chemo till we get to Florida.  If he has Giant platelets she will give the chemo.
If the cancer is growing and his platelets are not Giant that means the cancer is winning😪.  They are still fighting for him.

We head to Florida October 18th after a week of camping with our group.  The summer has gone by fast.

Hopefully our paths will cross again soon!

April 21st to April 30, 2020 From Las Vegas to Michigan

We left Las Vegas, beautiful weather and great friends on April 21st to
head for Michigan.
It was a great trip home with very little traffic.  I drove about 250
miles a day.  It was easy with no traffic and an awesome co-pilot who
kept my water glass full and snacks at the ready.
I have included some of the campgrounds we stayed at on our
way back to the mitten.

Flo & Bob said to be sure we stopped at the Hoover Dam pull off on our way out.
It was a great stop with a beautiful view.

Our first stop was in Williams, AZ.  We stayed at
Rail Side RV Ranch and picked up dinner

This is the train that take people to the Grand Canyon.
We took the train a couple of years ago.  It
was so much fun.

This cemetery was at the other end of
Williams.  There were some very old headstones here.
Most of the sights were fenced in some way.
It was a huge place with a lot of history.

This building is up for sale

The view down main street.
This place is always packed until
Covid came to town

On the road to Grants, NM

We found Journey KOA in Grants.  It had great trails to walk and
history to read.  You could also order dinner
delivered to your rig.  We got a Thanksgiving dinner
that was really good.  The owners just took over
the property three weeks before the lock down.  I would
defiantly stop by this campground again.

We found a great park in Cloverdale, IN.
The grounds were beautiful and it was an easy in kind of place.

Our last stay on the road was in Angola, IN at
Happy Acres.  It was a nice easy in place.  Really
nice owners

So now were are back in Michigan at Holiday Shores.
Bill has an appointment for a new CT scan on May 15th.
He hasn't had chemo since we left Florida March 7th.
We found out at that time that his chemo was no longer controlling
the cancer in his lungs.  The lesions had doubled and some had grown.
If all goes well he will be set up for a new treatment that
could be chemo or a pill.  We will know more on
the 20th when we see his Dr for an update.

We hope everyone is managing well with the Covid-19
lock down.  We spent most of our time on the road or
quarantined with friends in Las Vegas.
It looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we
will be able to figure out the new normal.
Take care everyone!!
