April 21st to April 30, 2020 From Las Vegas to Michigan

We left Las Vegas, beautiful weather and great friends on April 21st to
head for Michigan.
It was a great trip home with very little traffic.  I drove about 250
miles a day.  It was easy with no traffic and an awesome co-pilot who
kept my water glass full and snacks at the ready.
I have included some of the campgrounds we stayed at on our
way back to the mitten.

Flo & Bob said to be sure we stopped at the Hoover Dam pull off on our way out.
It was a great stop with a beautiful view.

Our first stop was in Williams, AZ.  We stayed at
Rail Side RV Ranch and picked up dinner

This is the train that take people to the Grand Canyon.
We took the train a couple of years ago.  It
was so much fun.

This cemetery was at the other end of
Williams.  There were some very old headstones here.
Most of the sights were fenced in some way.
It was a huge place with a lot of history.

This building is up for sale

The view down main street.
This place is always packed until
Covid came to town

On the road to Grants, NM

We found Journey KOA in Grants.  It had great trails to walk and
history to read.  You could also order dinner
delivered to your rig.  We got a Thanksgiving dinner
that was really good.  The owners just took over
the property three weeks before the lock down.  I would
defiantly stop by this campground again.

We found a great park in Cloverdale, IN.
The grounds were beautiful and it was an easy in kind of place.

Our last stay on the road was in Angola, IN at
Happy Acres.  It was a nice easy in place.  Really
nice owners

So now were are back in Michigan at Holiday Shores.
Bill has an appointment for a new CT scan on May 15th.
He hasn't had chemo since we left Florida March 7th.
We found out at that time that his chemo was no longer controlling
the cancer in his lungs.  The lesions had doubled and some had grown.
If all goes well he will be set up for a new treatment that
could be chemo or a pill.  We will know more on
the 20th when we see his Dr for an update.

We hope everyone is managing well with the Covid-19
lock down.  We spent most of our time on the road or
quarantined with friends in Las Vegas.
It looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we
will be able to figure out the new normal.
Take care everyone!!

April 3-21, 2020 Las Vegas

We made it to Las Vegas.
So nice to do quarantine with great friends,
good food and beverages.

 Oh the food

Ever wonder what the strip looks
like with no one there.

                      Fremont Street Empty

If you look close you can see
Hope Shines Bright
In lights

The street virtually empty and no one on
the sidewalks

Soaking up some sun                   Kona the Queen

There is a horse stable a couple of blocks away
Odd to see in the middle of a city.  I think it
was there before the city

The Thunderbirds gave a fly over.
It was a thrill

We are so blessed with the wonderful hospitality and love
that Flo & Bob showed us.
There is a time when friends become family and
they are our family.

And now we start the long drive back to Michigan
and more family.

March 24th - 29th, 2002 Arizona

The FMCA Rally was cancelled and the FamCamps
are closed so we stayed at the Pima Fairgrounds.
It was beautiful.  For safety sake we were
parked every other sight and the AZ
sunsets are beautiful.
Here are the sights on the fairgrounds.

Moon shot over the RV

We took a drive up to the

Mt. Lemmon ski resort

We were up high enough to find snow

If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them something more than the miracles of technology.  We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.
