September 30- October 8, 2016 Habitat Build

After all the RV drama we finally made it to the Habitat Build.  This was a great place to be after all the stress we had endured the week before.

We did a lot at the habitat store this year.
These are pictures of us getting ready for the
Carpenters Ball.

We can always find some manual labor to do.
We helped replace about 23 windows at the Church
that takes care of us.  It was great to work with these guys.

You know there is always a puppy.
This is Teddy he was one of 6 fur babies at
the build.

I can't say we work all the time.
The Church makes wonderful meals for us
and they keep us entertained with boat rides.

So now we are in Haines City, Florida with dad and Mary.
For the most part we will be here till November 9th.

September 21-29, 2016 Roanoke, VA

So we made the best of our long stay in Roanoke, VA.
We went to the D-Day Memorial for the Bedford Boys.  This memorial is just as good as the ones we have seen in Washington, DC.  We took the walking tour and our guide was fantastic.  If you are ever in the area you need to make a trip to this memorial.

We also took a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It was just a foggy as I remembered but a car is not as much fun as a motorcycle.

I did get pictures of the broken parts of the rig.  I will share a few.

This is the fan clutch.  It should have barrings in it
but they no longer exist.

This is the belt and the hose it shredded

This fan took a lot of abuse and didn't damage
the radiator.

Cummins expected to find the radiator damaged and the heads scorched but
we did not have any of that damage.

We did get to spend one week with the Care-A-Vanners at the Habitat Build.
Those pictures are on the next blog!
