May 21st to May 25th, 2016 Rayne, LA

Bill found an add in our FMCA magazine for a Monaco rally in Rayne, LA.
We love this area and knew we would enjoy a rally here.
On May 20th we pulled in and fell in love with the Monaco America group.  We went to dinner with them at the Rice Palace restaurant.  I got a shrimp and veggie stir fry which was good and Bill got gumbo and crab meat Au' gratin which was OK.  But the company made the meal great.  We had a good time just setting and talking with the group.

On May 21st the group took a tour of Kelly's Landing.
We learned how rice gets from the field to the table and how crawfish get from the pond to your plate.  He has a vast collection of John Deere toys and old farm equipment.  Then they top off your tour with lunch.  We had crawfish etoufee with rice, a unique corn dish, salad, bread, raspberry ice tea and the best bread pudding with rum sauce.

Our second day was busy with Champagne Swamp Tours.  The weather was beautiful and even though the wild life was sparse I was able to get a few good shots.

The Monaco America group were great hosts.  We joined their group and hope to meet up with them again down the road.

Rayne, LA is the FROG capital

Sewn card craft class

We also had a Cajun dance class

This group was not short on food whether it was catered or brought in by the group.

What is a party without a great band.  The SWAMP GROVE BAND were great and sang everything and anything.  There was a lot of dancing.

We leave Rayne tomorrow, May 26th and head to Florida.  We should arrive there on the 28th and leave on June 2nd to work our way to Indiana.
