Christmas 2019

After spending two very cold Christmas seasons in Texas we
decided to fly in for the week.

Ember is becoming quite a little fish

And Baker

And just like that there is nothing
under the tree.

The guys in the kitchen

Andrea and the boys arrived Christmas morning.  There was lots of Nerf gun fun

And scooters

The kids had fun at the museum

Ember got Christmas money from Peepaw
and spent it on Barbie stuff.

After a great week we headed back to Orlando

My Birthday 2019

Looks like it is time to play catch up.  I was looking at the blog and realized
I did not post anything from my birthday.

The day started with a trip to Gaylord Palms for a short
Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show.  The stage was beautiful and
the acts were amazing.

Gaylord Palms also does an ice presentation every year.
This years theme was the Polar Express.  The huge train, in black ice, had so much detail.

We loved the way the white ice blended with the green to form the trees.

You can't really see it but Santa was bent at the waist.

After all this we checked out a new special occasion restaurant.
We started with adult beverages and escargot.
My adult beverage was a smokey old fashioned and Bill had some type of
grapefruit (healthy) adult beverage.
We like our escargot in pastry but this was really good.

Then came the wood grilled Caesar salad with lardons (fatty bacon).
They reminded me of pork belly which is always yummy.

We should have stopped after the salad
but where is the fun in that.

On we go to the steak and lobster mac and cheese.
Yes it was all amazing and even better the next day.

And it was all topped off with birthday
creme brulee

It was an amazing day.  The service at Charley's was everything
you would expect it to be and the aged steaks melted in your mouth.
