April 3-21, 2020 Las Vegas

We made it to Las Vegas.
So nice to do quarantine with great friends,
good food and beverages.

 Oh the food

Ever wonder what the strip looks
like with no one there.

                      Fremont Street Empty

If you look close you can see
Hope Shines Bright
In lights

The street virtually empty and no one on
the sidewalks

Soaking up some sun                   Kona the Queen

There is a horse stable a couple of blocks away
Odd to see in the middle of a city.  I think it
was there before the city

The Thunderbirds gave a fly over.
It was a thrill

We are so blessed with the wonderful hospitality and love
that Flo & Bob showed us.
There is a time when friends become family and
they are our family.

And now we start the long drive back to Michigan
and more family.

March 24th - 29th, 2002 Arizona

The FMCA Rally was cancelled and the FamCamps
are closed so we stayed at the Pima Fairgrounds.
It was beautiful.  For safety sake we were
parked every other sight and the AZ
sunsets are beautiful.
Here are the sights on the fairgrounds.

Moon shot over the RV

We took a drive up to the

Mt. Lemmon ski resort

We were up high enough to find snow

If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them something more than the miracles of technology.  We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.

Next off to Las Vegas

Heading to Bowie March 2020 in Bowie to

We left Oak Harbor March 7, 2020
The media was just starting to talk about the coronavirus.

We spent our first night on the road at Tallahassee RV Park.
We have stayed here before.  It's a nice little park for an overnight but the sights are too close for us.

We ate at a Backwoods Crossing.  It is a farm to table restaurant
who has it's farm in the backyard.

This is the Pollen Season
Rye, ginger, lemon and
apple blossom bitters.                                                                                                     Doing the blog so long after
we ate means that I forgot what
we had but I remember it was
GREAT!

We always return to the same FamCamp.
Lake Walker in Hattiesburg, MS

We were able to return to one
of our favorite restaurant

We ALWAYS get the shrimp & rabbit egg rolls and
roasted beet salad
And we tried the fried green tomatoes with pork

Bill's blackened redfish oscar.
He ate it all
Pulled pork nachos.
I could NOT eat it all.

 We shared a lemon tart.
It was yummy and not too sweet.

We found a new fun restaurant called
Glory Bounty.  Our waitress and food
were both wonderful.

As we head west we stopped in Bowie for a few days.

She has talked about earrings
so we found a few pair of little girl
clip on earrings

We had to get a new bigger better
mattress because our old one
finally sprung a leak during the night

We camped in the city park.
It was $15 a night electric and water.
They had a dump station.  It was perfect.

Teaching grandpa to play Mario Cart.

You know your in Bowie when you see the
Bowie Knife

We left Bowie March 22nd and headed west.
