May 15 to May 18, 2016 Heading to Rayne, LA

We made it to Red Bay, AL to check out a new Tiffin RV.  If you want to take the best RV assembly plant tour you have to stop here. The employees are wonderful.  We even toured the paint shop a few miles away and that was great.  The bad news is they are not going to make the floor plan we wanted in 2017.  So back to the drawing board for us.

The town is not very big but they had a nice restaurant called the Mason Jar.  It was a busy diner with great food.  We stayed at a site in town.  Nothing fancy but the site was level and you had a great view of the town.

We also went to the Rattle Snake Saloon.  The food is not fancy but the location is fantastic.  It is in a hollow at the bottom of a hill.

Looking into the restaurant

Then we were off to explore the Coon Dog Cemetery.  What an interesting place.  The headstones give name, linage and record.  Not just any dog can be buried here, there is a board of directors.

Since there is not much to do in Red Bay we headed to Tupelo, MS to check out where Elvis was born.  They have a nice museum set up with the house he was born in  and church he attended.  It was a nice stop.

We also found this place.  The best fried chicken ever.  Served on styrofoam and plastic silverware.  The owner brought us free onion rings.  Oh my they were great.  This place is also known for blueberry donuts.

We are leaving Red Bay early and heading for Hattiesburg, MS.
More later.
