April 18 -20, 2017 To Spokane, WA

We left Loomis, CA on April 18th and headed for Spokane, WA.  Needless to say we are not in the warm weather.  On the plus side we have had lots of sunshine since we left Loomis.

This was a picture of our
drive to Weed, CA

This was the clear view of
Mount Shasta

This is Black Butte

The clouds are rolling in

Happy hour!!

I went for a walk after dinner and took
these photos

We woke to a cloud covered mountain

I drove the first our hours of our 6 hour
day.  The drive along the Columbia River was
so beautiful.  This was the view Bill got to drive.

We arrived in Spokane and we were greeted by this beautiful rainbow followed by an
impressive sunset.  Looking forward to lots of positive news while we are here.

We met up with our niece at The Blackbird.  She could not have picked a better place.  We started with a Charcuterie plate that was wonderful.  I forget to get a picture.

For the meal I had BBQ Belly smoked & confit pork belly, crispy gnocchi with sweet corn & molasses dressing, bourbon glaze, smoked popcorn.
Bill had Bison Burger North Idaho Bison, cherry rhubarb jam, popcorn shoots, smoked blue cheese
I think Courtney had Smoked Turkey Sandwich charbroiled molases roll, whipped ricotta, honey, toasted walnut, mache, smoked turkey

For dessert we shared a unique take on Strawberry short cake and the best warm key lime glazed donuts you could ask for.
We will return to this restaurant before we leave.

So here we are in Spokane, WA at Cummins.
We have a frozen turbo.  They will replace the
turbo and the controller (VCM?) on Monday.

It's a little on the cold side here.
I guess this is the way I remember spring in Michigan!
