August 21-23, 2016 Montezuma, NY

The Finger Lakes Region of New York

This area is beautiful.  We stayed at a campground called HEJAMADA.  It was one of the most peaceful places we have stayed.  There were maybe five campers on our side of the campground.
Our main reason for stopping in this area was for Bill to make contact with an old friend.  His family still owns a restaurant in this area but sad to say the friend passed away six years ago.  We were able to talk with his brother and sister-in-law, they still own the restaurant.  We had dinner there and the food was great.  Bill said it had not changed much since he helped bust out a wall in the kitchen.

We also made a run to Watkins Glen race track.  They don't give tours but we did get to get close enough to the track to get some photos of the street cars that were going around the track.

We also enjoyed a couple of wineries and cheese farms.

We found another eating spot with my name on it and the food was really good.

And finally a view of Seneca lake.

We are now in Hopewell Jct, NY.  This will be our home base for the culinary institute and beyond.
