August 24-28, 2016 Hopewell Junction, NY (Hyde Park)

The Culinary Institute of America

After many years, since 1973, Bill got to return to where his culinary career began. A special thank you to Marlene for the wonderful tour.

The campus has really grown since he was there.  This is the original building, Roth hall, where he took classes.

Crawford's on the Hudson
This room is now the dining hall.  Can you imagine.

We also ate a couple of meals there.

Bill Raved about the corn chowder.  He said it was like silk and the chicken in his sandwich had a great smoke flavor. My salmon salad was wonderful and had so many flavors.

Bill had beef carpaccio and I had black truffle soup

Wonderful Halibut

Fantastic Lamb

 Sweets

At the CIA the students must hand crank the ice cream with nitrogen

Really CRANK

This is the view from the lake where we stayed.

We got to visit with our niece Ashley and her friend Brandon while we were in New York. She picked the coolest restaurant.  As you can tell by the name Mussels were on the menu and those fries had truffle oil on them.

Hope you are enjoying the blog!!
